In honor of Veteran’s Day, President Obama, Michelle and the Bidens traveled to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Virginia. At this solemn ceremony President Obama laid a wreath at the tomb in honor of America’s many fallen heroes throughout the centuries, the unknown men who gave their lives for our country, for our freedom
At this event where Americans paid their respects to the lives of the lost, in the midst of the mournful shades of black and gray, stood the very visible Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama was wearing her teal Maria Pinto frock, which she also wore to the Democratic National Convention in 2008. In addition, she accessorized with her famous, black, textile belt cinched across her blue tweed overcoat from J. Crew.
Although this look is flattering on Michelle, why did she wear it to this grave event? When dressing for any ceremony to give honor and pay respects to those who have passed away, it is vital that your attire not draw attention to you. One should stay in the color pallet of grays and blacks with just a small hint of a brighter accent color, thrown in as a belt, scarf or purse.
Do you think Michelle is dressed appropriately? Did she nail this ensemble for the wreath-laying ceremony or has the first lady made a big mistake? You decide.
