President Obama gave his first address during a time of national mourning this Tuesday afternoon. The president hailed the victims of the Fort Hood tragedy as heroes, stating, “no words can fill the void that has been left." However, before addressing the public at the Fort Hood Memorial Service in Texas, President Obama met privately with the families of the 13 killed during this massacre.

Michelle also honored those killed by attending the memorial service this afternoon. She honored her titled of First Lady of the United States very well by dressing appropriately – simple and classy. Michelle was dressed in a black dress ending just above the knee with a deep V-neckline. The dress complimented her pear shape having a twist in the fabric just below the bust-line. Mrs. Obama accessorized with her classic pearl necklace, and had her hair swept back in a flattering French twist.
