Next to the September 11th Memorial in Cherry Hill Park, construction has stopped on a $240,000 park due to the lack of fundraising because of this difficult economic time. The city has found themselves short $70,000 to complete the park.
The park is being built to comemorate the fire fighters and police officers that have died in the line of duty. They will be recieving a loan from the Parks Department Capital Improvement fund but is hoping the majority of the money will come from donations from the citizens.
The city of Coeur d Alene has 2000 bricks they are selling, you can purchase one for around $50 and have it engraved to be placed in the park. They have sold 200 so far.
If you have any questions inregards to purchasing the bricks or making a donation you can call (208)769-2252 or email questions to parks@cdaid.org
The city is hoping the park will be completed by September 11th 2009.
