Larry Harmon used a .22 caliber rifle on November 11, 1971 and went into St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and killed a janitor and injured four others before being shot to death by police. Larry's father E. Glenn Harmon prominet Spokane attorney and former journalist blames his son's LSD use on the shootings. Mr. Glenn Harmon passed away in 1994.

Almost four decades later his other son Douglas Harmon attacked a 18 year old with a machete. The victim suffered a broken wrist and recieved 100 stitches to his head and face. The victim describes the attack as unprovoked. He states that he was walking a friend home to where she was staying and the suspect approached them with the machete in hand asking some " off -the -wall questions," including why they were not being nice. Harmon then told Ramsey he thought he was the mean one and started attacking him with the machete.

Douglas Harmon was accused of two counts of first degree assault. He has been moved to a mental hospital where in lieu of a court apperance, there are reports stating Harmon was having difficulties in jail.
