Fashion Makeover Contest 2009 Co-sponsor: Elisa Monterroso
Elisa Monterroso has always had a big love for fashion; to her it is a form of art. Monterroso describes fashion as a way of expressing oneself. She started to pursue her passion for fashion at the age of fifteen when she enrolled in the local cosmetology program. Elisa described this program as ‘the basics’ of everything that revolves in fashion. After finishing Cosmetology school, Elisa enrolled into the Fashion program at the Art Institute in Dallas TX, and finished her degree at Wade College obtaining a degree in fashion merchandising.
Elisa prides herself on making each headband with different and customized details for each client. Monterroso uses a variety of materials to enhance the look and feel of each piece to give it a sense of unique individuality. She has traveled the globe for inspirations, taking pictures to remind her of the distinctive qualities the world has to offer and you can see that in the work that she puts forth.
Elisa has worked in fashion shows like Fashion at the Park and Y3. She helped the production team get the models ready for the events.
