Some might be surprised that in five years of adding suggestive anatomical drawings to celebrity photos, this is the first time Perez Hilton has been allegedly assaulted. The notorious blogger is accusing Black Eyed Peas singer Will.I.Am of instigated an attack against him at Sunday night's MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada. The drama began when Hilton Twittered, "I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke" (To which John Mayer retorted, "I love that @perezhilton uses his cellphone to log on to twitter to post a tweet to ask his followers to call the police for him...Can somebody please call Amex and get me a replacement card?")
Come Monday morning, Will.I.Am posted an online video telling his side of the story and described Perez as being rude (Perez Hilton? Rude? Unthinkable). Will went on to say that he and Hilton exchanged words, and the confrontation escalated until the blogger threw a derogatory slur at him, and claims fans then turned against Hilton.
Perez fired back Monday morning in his own, 11 minute, 42 second video blog, countering Will.I.Am's statement and accusing the Black Eyed Peas' general manager, Polo Molina of punching him in the head "two or three times," The blogger pointed out his black eye, and said to Will.I.Am, "You know very well, and I know very well, and God knows that it was not a random fan that hit me."
So who's telling the truth? Only time, an inevitable lawsuit, and an unnecessarily lengthy, public battle will tell.
