Business owners who learn to leverage technology are a step ahead of their competitors.

Just the other day, there was a networking event at RAW (1225 Sansom street) for women business owners that used technology to their advantage. Event registration was handled electronically using eventbrite. Business cards were scanned in using neat receipts. The presenter was videotaped and the photographer captured images of the audience. Basically, the experience was digitized!

We no longer can just attend events and say we had a great time. Now the event is forever captured to be re-played again and again. All the marketing collateral taken from the event should be posted to the host's fan page (or group) on www.facebook.com. Facebook allows video uploads (see Wealth Building Series trailer) of up to 20 minutes and unlimited photo storage. Because the marketing collateral is integrated, we no longer need a Youtube account for video, a google picasa account for photo's and a blogspot blog for the details of the event.

As we discussed in the article from last week, Facebook 101 for business, fan pages allow business owners access to an audience of their potential clients. Step 1 is to create a fan page. Step 2 is to upload the company's logo to the fan page as the image. Step 3 is to upload photos of the products and services of the business to the photo tab. Step 4 is to upload video testimonials from customers of how great the products/services work. Then finally after all the marketing collateral is published, invite your friends to become fans of your business!

This is one way to use all the facets of technology to show your potential customers the benefits of patronizing your business. Next week we will discuss the use of video for training your employees! Now we can leverage technology to make your business a systematic process that can be duplicated - Stay Tuned!
