Each week I endeavor to list new performance art productions opening around the Twin Cities. With such an abundance of companies and venues in the area, keeping track of openings can be a challenge, but I'll link whatever I can find. Provided descriptions are reprinted from production websites.
November 10th
Children’s Theatre Company: Cinderella
This is a Cinderella like you've never seen, jam-packed with a wacky, wondrous mix of dance, physical comedy, spectacular sets, and outrageous costumes. The tale of the girl who rises from the ashes to take her rightful place alongside the prince is deliciously performed in panto style, an enduringly popular form of English theater. Children's Theatre Company's holiday show promises to delight all ages with an uproarious rendition of one the great classic fairy tales. Runs through 12/02.

November 12th

ARENA Dances: Short Fall
ARENA Dances creates and performs original choreography by Mathew Janczewski to promote an understanding and appreciation of modern dance in the Twin Cities. Runs at the Lab Theater through 11/15.

November 13th

Jungle Theater, The: The Seafarer
It's Christmas Eve and Sharky has returned to Dublin to look after his irascible, aging brother who has recently gone blind. Old drinking buddies Ivan and Nicky are holed up at the house too, hoping to play some cards. But with the arrival of a stranger from the distant past, the stakes are raised ever higher. In fact, Sharky may be playing for his very soul...A stunning, towering new play by the auther of Shining City. Runs through 12/20.

November 14th

Minnesota Opera, The: Casanova’s Homecoming
After years in exile, the aging Casanova returns to Venice where old rivals trick him into seducing a castrato, who Casanova discovers is actually a woman in disguise. Together they hatch their own hilarious scheme to save his reputation and protect her identity. Inspired by Casanova's own memoirs, Minnesota composer Dominick Argento composed this warm-hearted comedy for the Ordway's opening season in 1985. Featuring The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Runs at the Ordway through 11/22.
