(Mu Daiko)
Each week I will be endeavoring to list new productions opening around the Twin Cities. With such an abundance of companies and venues in the area, keeping track of openings can be a challenge. I'm almost certain to miss a few, but I'll link whatever I can find. Provided descriptions are reprinted from production websites:

Opening November 11th

Children’s Theatre Company: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The wondrous world of Narnia comes to life on the CTC stage when Peter, Susan, Lucy, and Edmund embark upon their incredible adventure. Stepping through the wardrobe into the frozen land where the White Witch now reigns, they must find the courage and faith to join Aslan the Lion in a valiant battle to restore beauty and hope – and to earn their places as kings and queens of Narnia. Join us for a spectacular musical adaptation of one of the great classic stories, filled with faith, hope and possibility. – from the Children’s Theatre Company website

Opening November 13th

Brave New Workshop: All I Want for Christmas is 700 Billion Dollars – Our 50th Noel
All I Want for Christmas is 700 Billion Dollars: Our 50th Noel offers holiday revelers a belly warming look at the family and friend filled season of cheer we must endure each year. The Workshop's satirical look at the highs and lows of this holiday season will help all forge through the traumatic work parties, eccentric families, and mad traditions. Both the “shrieking mothers” and “angry fathers” versions of the “12 Days of Christmas” will be back by audience demand and better than ever! – from the Brave New Workshop website

Opening November 14th

Illusion Theater: Same Difference
This powerful play tackles racism with razor sharp wit. It returns to Illusion’s stage for encore performances after two runs at Illusion and Pillsbury House Theatre last February. Samuel G. Roberson, Jr. has written two complicated, funny, authentic characters from very different backgrounds who are thrust together as college roommates. They struggle to define their similarities and differences in a world which is always telling them who they are. – from the Illusion Theater website

Jungle Theater: Souvenir
A wildly funny and surprisingly touching portrait of real-life musical laughingstock Florence Foster Jenkins – a wealthy society widow who professed to be a great opera soprano, but instead had an uncanny ability to stay consistently off-key. As news of her terrible singing spread, so did her celebrity, ultimately leading to a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall. – from the Jungle Theater website

Mu Performing Arts: Mu Daiko @ the Ritz Theater

Mu Daiko returns to the Ritz Theater for this annual performance of old favorites and world premieres. Don't miss the Twin Cities' premier Japanese taiko drumming ensemble as the unveil original works in an inspiring showcase of rhythm and movement. – from the Ritz Theater website
