The second season of The City premiered last night on MTV. The first scene opened with Whitney’s old high school friend, Roxy, interviewing for a job with Kelly Cutrone.

Right off the bat, it’s obvious that Roxy has a strong, outspoken personality and she doesn't stand for any B.S.  Of course, this seems to appeal to Kelly.  So then Kelly asks Roxy if she worked with Rachel Zoe when she lived in L.A.  Roxy said that she did, in fact,  work with the infamous celebrity stylist  "for a little bit." However, it seems Roxy didn't exactly love her experience with Zoe, describing it by saying, “I couldn't catch [Rachel].  She's always like here and there, and it's very unorganized, and that's not what I like."

Other highlights of the interview include Roxy claiming she left L.A. because “[she] was the only one [wearing] all black," her describing Whitney, her friend since 7th grade, as "plain Jane" who "[wore] yellow" and "didn't care about fashion at all, or at least it didn't look like it" in high school.   She also admitted that she doesn't get along wonderfully with other girls, saying "I don't think it's sad though.  I just find them to be sad." And that really doesn't seem too surprising, seeing as she told Kelly, "If [Whitney is] constantly smiling, it might get to me."

So later on, everybody wanted to know more about this snappy, new Roxy chick.  And of course, Rachel Zoe’s Twitter was showered with inquiries about this her. Who was Roxy? Did she really work for Zoe? What was the deal?

Rachel Zoe’s response: “She never worked for me..lying is so not chic.”

So it seems The City might have a new liar on their hands? How could somebody just lie about working for Rachel Zoe and then pretty much bash her? On TV? To Kelly Cutrone? Who knows? Maybe it’s all just part of the “scripted drama.”

Whether she lied or not, Roxy and the other cast members of The City delivered a far more entertaining (and slightly more believable) show than The Hills’ girls. How staged was that conversation between Stephanie and Audrina at  SOI 56? And now “Stacie the bartender” is friends with everybody? It was weird enough when she showed up at Spencer and Heidi’s wedding. It seems like Kristen, Spencer and Heidi are going to be carrying the show this season.

What did you think about MTV’s Tuesday night lineup? Team Hills or Team City?
