SUMMARY: Slapout, Alabama, a rural community located on Lake Jordan, in Northwest Elmore County, is largely Conservative, with eleven out of thirteen residents voting for Senator McCain in the 2008 election. All voters polled, said they were voting a straight ticket within their party and had made up their mind, on what candidate to choose, long before November 4th. While most voters were eager to answer the straw poll, four preferred not to participate. The voting process was very efficient and things ran smoothly, with only a thirty minute wait at the busiest times. Spirits were high, and the community seemed optimistic about the election results and a victory for their chosen candidates.
