The organizers of the 9/12 March on D.C., probably only hoped for such an influx of protesters, never thinking the numbers would grow to the size it did. Estimates on the number of protesters vary widely among news channels, but the most plausible has been 2.1 million, reported by CNN. Two point one million, let’s say it together, two point one million, and again, louder, TWO POINT ONE MILLION.
I know I was stunned at the size, and for some time couldn’t wrap my brain around the magnitude of what was transpiring. Our group (the Wetumpka T.E.A. Party) left on three privately chartered red-eye buses, from Prattville, AL on Friday at 4pm and returned Sunday at 10:30am, tired, hungry and extremely proud to have taken part in such a historical event. We all had our own individual reasons for attending, ranging from seniors protesting the Healthcare Reform Bill, to high school and college students concerned about the massive price tag they will one day be saddled with, but none of us were prepared for what we saw once in D.C. We were called names in the press like extremist, radicals, angry mobs and liars, but what happened in DC will no doubt go down in history.

Our organizers, Eric and Becky Gerritson and Bob Burton, planned our trip with military precision , thinking of every possible contingency, and offering logical solutions on our maps and paperwork. There was even a plan for a possible terror attack, and what we were to do, and where to meet, should we be able. Luckily, and by the Grace of God, those plans were not needed, but the sentiment was not lost on the Gerritsons troop of "radical, extremists." And radical they were! One hundred fifty plus, on the bus trip, were so radical, that they shared prayers, food and their own stories. It was shocking to witness. I have never seen such rhetoric displayed so blatantly. Like the Grandfather (76 years old) and his 9-year-old grandson, who sat quietly waiting to express two generations worth of concern. The Grandfather was such a radical, in fact, he held up a sign and clapped for the speakers, after marching more than a mile. Something should really be done about those scary children and seniors!
Even more extremism was present in the group of teens and college age kids in our group, they were so far out of touch with reality, that they even helped the older members on and off the bus. What is to become of our future, if we are forced to deal with such extreme behavior? Once the group of mobsters arrived at the rally, well it became utterly frightening, the sight of 2.1 million extremists gathered in one spot. And such radical behavior has never before been seen in history. People singing songs, helping perfect strangers, laughing and talking, and even cleaning up their own mess before leaving the Plaza. America better watch out, these radical mobsters are dangerous to society. At least they are a danger to Liberals, Socialism, and big government. Keep that in mind Washington, D.C., we are gunning for your jobs!
A special note to the elite media of this Nation, (and seeing the coverage from Fox, you are included) you need to get on the bandwagon that is the T.E.A. Party, because Congress and the President are not the only folks without job security these days. We will replace you guys as well, and we may only be several million strong today, but tomorrow will be another story.
