Tomorrow, the Fourth of July, tea parties protesting wasteful government spending will take place all over the United States. With little positive coverage by the mainstream media on the last national tea party that took place on the very appropriate day of April 15th, it was hard to pin down the numbers of attendees of the protests in the beginning, but now many acknowledge that the attendees were around 300,000 people. Even more people are expected to come out for tomorrow’s tea parties which will take place in most cities in the country.
Despite what some in the media want its viewers to think, and what the President thinks, the tea parties are not a partisan protest. It is not an anti-Obama rally. It is intended to stop excessive government spending where it’s at, on both sides of the aisle. With the passing of the new cap and trade and the proposed healthcare reform plans probable passing, even more of a deficit will be left to our children and grandchildren. The tea parties are a way for all people, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents (who are growing in numbers), to participate in the political debate about government excess and the theft of our freedoms.
To get involved, sign up at teapartyday.com, teapartypatriots.org, or reteaparty.com. The Raleigh Tea Party will be taking place from 1pm to 5pm tomorrow, July 4th at the Halifax Mall.  It will be a family friendly event where people can voice their concerns and have fun at the same time.
