As a reminder of the business side of American beer, The Brewers Association has released the ranking of the top breweries in the country. This reflects 2008 sales volume.

This also serves as a reminder that some consolidation took place last year. Miller and Coors joined forces, and if #7 on the list doesn't look familiar, that's the merger of Widmer and Redhook. As changes continue, this list doesn't reflect Pyramid being acquired by Magic Hat Brewing Co. It's nice to see a Northern California favorite in the top 10, and some other California favorites as well. That would be the top two California breweries represented in the pictures.
