Despite the consistent beers from dedicated brewmasters, Sacramento Brewing Company has closed for good. The final day open was October 18, 2009. This comes less than a year after the closing of their second brewery, Sacramento Brewing Company's Oasis (known by many as simply "The Oasis"). Packaging was done off-site following the closing of The Oasis (their main production facility), as their beers were still bottled and available throughout Sacramento. Also unfortunate, is that Sacramento Brewing Company was awarded a Bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival just a month ago.
Fortunately for Brewmaster Peter Hoey, there are good things in the works that will show off his imagination and passion for beer. He has already teamed up with Rick Sellers (featured previously in The Examiner) for Odonata Beer Company. Their first beer, Rorie's Ale, was well-received, and their flagship beer, a Saison, is due out soon.
