The Twilight Saga: New Moon premiere is just around the corner. What better way to celebrate the upcoming opening than by hosting a vampire tea party this Halloween! Confronted with this fantastic idea, are you finding yourself asking the following important questions?

  • What does tea have to do with vampires?
  • Wouldn’t tea make a vampire sick, or just be repulsing to it?
  • Isn’t tea too boring for a vampire party?

All fair questions that will be addressed in some form or another, if you keep reading and view the slideshow.

Some of us immortals spent a recent Saturday hosting a vampire tea. It was a bloody success! No grave was left undisturbed, no vampire unfed, and no virgins unspoiled. To replicate our blood fest, consider the following party planning tips.

Roam your backyard for rectangular paving stones to use as budget-friendly tombstones. Place at least three of them in your front yard. Locate a shovel and disturb the earth in front of the stones. Next, scour your house or your neighbor’s house for candelabras, decorative urns, dead flowers, black table cloths, red or black candlesticks, and anything Gothic looking.

Provide three activities for a chance to win tempting prizes.
1. Twilight Tea Tasting - each vampire is tested on their palette. Can they identify the blood type, tea type, and other flavors?

Set out black, red, or Gothic inspired tea pots; tasting cups; signs identifying the taste number (and not the name of the drink), paper to record guesses, and red pens.

2. Vampire Trivia Quiz
3. Twilight Trivia Quiz

Prizes should be travel-size, blood bags.

Special thanks to Carrie n’ Charb, Seattle University Law Students, and the undead.

A bloody tea
This year's vampire tea was attended by Count Chocula, characters from Twilight and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and soon to be famous vampires.
