Christian retailers have selected four books as finalists in the Christian Retailers Choice awards women's fiction category this month. They are: “The Brides of Gallatin County”: A Promise to Believe In, by Tracie Peterson (Bethany House Publishers/Baker Publishing Group); “9/11 Series”: Every Now & Then, by Karen Kingsbury (Zondervan); One Perfect Day, by Lauraine Snelling (FaithWords); and “Sunrise Series”: Sunset, also by Karen Kingsbury (Tyndale House Publishers).
A Promise to Believe In is the first of three books in a historical romance series about three sisters running a roadhouse in Montana. Tracie Peterson, who happens to live in Montana herself, is a bestselling, award-winning author of more than 70 novels.
Mrs. Peterson has two other books due to be released this fall: A Surrendered Heart, Book 3 in the Broadmoor Legacy series; and Dawn's Prelude, Book 1 in a new series, Song of Alaska.
Lauraine Snelling is also a best-selling author. One Perfect Day tells the story of two families at Christmas dealing with life and death issues – one girl has a second chance at life through a new heart as the other family deals with the death of a loved one.
Her newest book, due in October, goes back to the much-loved setting of Blessing, North Dakota. Entitled A Measure of Mercy, this book continues the saga of the Bjorklund family, who can also be found in Mrs. Snelling's Red River, Return to Red River and Daughters of Blessing series.
A prolific writer, Karen Kingsbury has two books in the running. Sunset wraps up her Sunrise series about the Baxter family. And, fans have written glowing reviews. Every Now and Then concludes her 9/11 series, also with an enthusiastic response from fans. The 9/11 series was published by Chicago area publisher, Tyndale House.
Winners of the Christian Retailers Choice awards will be announced at the upcoming retailers' show in Denver, Colorado on July 13.
