So you may have heard by now that Kanye West is collaborating with Louis Vuitton on some high-end sneakers, which reportedly sell for over $700 a pop. And may or may not be sold out already, on their first day of sales.
It seems that West is somewhat of a fashionista himself -- just like the best of them, he said he "already knew and looked up to Marc Jacobs" when the Louis Vuitton peeps gave him the opportunity to design some shoes for the brand. In fact, West told Louis Vuitton Resource Center that he became interested in fashion way back in kindergarten: "I really thought about what I was going to put on every morning."
West cited singer Rihanna as someone who has her style all figured out: "She's kind of like a genius because regardless of how many stylists she has, I know she does it on her own. That's an innate talent, having style like that. It's kind of like the way people play sport, some people just hit the shoots into the net better. Yeah. Fashion is a sport in a way."
West has come a long way since his earlier days in the spotlight. He admitted that he is at war with himself, that he wants to make his life "about helping other people."
"I don't think I'm number one at anything ... except for learning. You can never stop learning."
According to Us Weekly, West is currently "interning" at the GAP. Us Weekly's source said West "works all the time, and one Friday night recently, he stayed until 12 a.m. He's learning the fashion business from the inside and trying to do it quietly."
That's some dedication ... I hope they compensate him handsomely -- with his own line, perhaps?
