219 West, corner of 4th and Lavaca

There is a good reason why places such as 219 West become the habitual happy hour locale, the perpetual contingency plan, and win “Best Happy Hour” accolades many times over. It is fail proof when it comes to happy hour drink prices, a good-looking crowd, and amazing food that always surprised newcomers.

Located in the heart of the warehouse district, 219 West has become a staple of the happy hour scene for a number of reasons. Most importantly, their weeknight happy hour is 5pm to 9pm so you don’t have to rush order a drink and an appetizer at some arbitrary 7 o’clock deadline after work.

While their draft selection, cocktails and cutesy wine flight option make the trip worth it in and of itself, they have six different ‘menus’ each with different appetizers that are half off until 9pm and offer food/beverage pairing advice. Some personal recommendations include the Chipotle Mac and Cheese from the beer menu, Portabella Mushroom & Crab Fondue from the scotch menu, Grilled Chicken Lettuce Wraps from the wine menu and Mini Southwestern Burgers on the tequila menu. Tapas galore!

Once you hit this place up, you are guaranteed to find yourself there again and again. 219 West never disappoints, especially when used as a post-work cool down or a night out warm up!

Pros: Appetizers, Friendly waitstaff, Price, Live Music/Atmosphere

Cons: Downtown parking, Occasionally gets crowded early, Small patio

Daily Specials
Weekday Happy Hour from 5p-9p featuring $2.50 drafts, $10 wine flights and ½ price appetizers. Mondays: $5 mojitos. Tuesdays: $2 local drafts and $5 Texas vodka drinks. Wednesdays: $5 Three Olives vodka drinks. Thursdays: $5 Grey Goose drinks. Closed Sundays.
