After losing at home to the St. Louis Rams, the Lions have hit a low point this season. Of course, they were without Calvin Johnson last week, and certainly didn't help their chances of winning. Fortunately for Detroit, Johnson has practiced on both Wednesday and Thursday this week, and barring a setback he should be fine for Sunday's game at Seattle.
However, an injury struck another key Detroit offensive player, as Kevin Smith missed practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Even though he has been very disappointing this season, he still is probably better than Maurice Morris, so missing him would be a blow to the Lions offense to be sure. That being said, he did practice on Thursday, so there is still a good chance he plays on Sunday. If last week taught us anything, it's that the Lions need to be at full strength to have a chance at beating anybody.
Alas, even if the Lions are full strength on Sunday against a lousy Seattle Seahawks team, I still wouldn't bet on them to win. This team lost to the Rams. At home. I don't like their chances against any team, with or without Johnson and Smith. Maybe the Lions will pull off the upset with their two biggest offensive threats healthy, but I doubt it.
