The holiday season is hard for singles, especially if all your friends are “plural”. When you’re single and don’t want to be, it seems that there are couples everywhere you turn. During the holidays, this happens tenfold, but only because it’s more noticed. With the plethora of family gatherings and holiday parties that occur this time of year, you’ll be faced with going solo to mingle with other couples. Here are a few advantages to being single this season:

1.You can sleep in Christmas morning instead of waking up at the buttcrack of dawn and pretending to be excited about opening presents before you’ve even had your coffee.
2.You don’t have to cram 5 Christmas dinners into 2 days between your family and his.
3.You can buy yourself a nice gift instead of spending endless hours searching for “the perfect gift” for someone else.
4.You don’t have to worry about your partner having a little too much to drink at your company party and embarrassing you.*
5.See a cute guy across the room at a party? He’s all yours; your girls are all taken!
6.You don’t have sit through another awkward dinner with his family and field questions about when they can expect kids
7.You make your own schedule. Want to spend the evening watching It’s a Good Life and a Christmas Story? You can, and without complaint from the peanut gallery.
8.You can pamper yourself without feeling guilty. After all, you’re worth it!
9.You can kiss whoever you want under the mistletoe.
10.You’ll have more time to spend with your family and friends.

Though the season is great when you have someone special to share it with, you can have just as much fun going solo. If you decide to get out of town, check out Singles Holidays. < http://www.singlesholidays.com/ > They provide vacation options for singles who don’t want to be alone during the holidays. Who knows? You may meet Mr. Right while you’re making the best of your season.

*This didn’t happen to me thankfully, but I’ll remain painfully embarrassed for my friend who experienced this firsthand.
