Anime Boston has been busy making their preparations for the coming convention in April of 2010, from the 2nd to the 4th at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts. This is the largest event in New England that celebrates Japanese pop culture, Anime Boston 2009 boasting an impressive 15,000 in attendance to partake in screenings, panels, contests, cosplaying, gaming, and so much more.
Along with the announcement of their 2010 theme, MAD SCIENCE, which sports their convention mascots in cyber-gear, Anime Boston's official hotel, Sheraton Boston Hotel, is now accepting registrations for rooms in both the Social Block and Quiet Block of the hotel. The reservation cutoff date is March 1, 2010 and rules and regulations can be found here, at the Hotel Information Page.
For the many artists that flock to Anime Boston's Artist Alley to feature and sell their work, the "letter of intent" phase is supposed to begin in a few weeks, so it's time to prepare for when the online registration for a table begins! Please note that while the location and pricing of the alley has not changed, Anime Boston has updated their restrictions, which includes the prohibiting of selling or distributing stickers, so make changes to your booth plans accordingly.
Any new artists thinking of making a debut at Anime Boston are encouraged to read up on the Artist Alley at Anime Boston's website. Any questions can be answered including the prices and sizes of tables, how to ask for special accommodations, the minimum age requirement, a full set of rules and repercussions, as well as a beginner's page that has some handy and useful tips on how to promote yourself. They also have a forum page for artists to contact and talk with one another.
As the next few months come and go, Anime Boston is sure to begin announcing news and updates for their contests, events, special guests, and which anime and films will be screened throughout the convention. Be sure to get your pass for one of the top ten best anime conventions in the United States soon!
