A few hours ago, the Browns selected USC linebacker Kaluka Maiava in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL draft.
Interestingly enough, Kaluka is also the nephew of former WWE superstar and current movie star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
The Rock has now taken a backseat to Mr. Johnson's movie career. Johnson was also a collegiate football player at the University of Miami. He played DT and was part of Dennis Erickson's 1991 National Championship team.
Here is what has happened so far for the Cleveland Browns this 2009 NFL draft:
1. Browns trade number 5 pick to Jets for number 17 pick and DE Kenyon Coleman, S Abe Elam, and QB Brett Ratliff
2. Browns then trade their 17 pick to Tampa Bay for 19th pick and 2009 6th round draft pick
3. Browns trade their 19th pick to Philadelphia Eagles for 21st pick and 2009 draft picks
4. Finally, the Browns select C Alex Mack (yes, not Rey Maualuga) from California with 21st pick.
5. With the 36th pick in round 2 the Browns select Ohio State WR Brian Robiskie
6. With the 50th pick in round 2 the Browns select Georgia WR Mohamed Massaquoi
7. With the 52nd pick in round 2 the Browns select Hawaii DE/LB David Veikune (Who????)
8. With the 104 pick in round 2 the Browns select USC LB Kaluka Maiava (check our USC Trojans Examiner for more info)
