At the half, the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins are locked in either a great defensive battle or the worst offensive game in the NFL that hasn’t included the Cleveland Browns.
That’s right, since there’s no Patriots game today, we’ve been keeping an eye on the Jets and Dolphins. It’s been painful. Extremely painful.
The teams are a combined 2-16 on third down conversions. They’ve punted almost as many times as they’ve gotten first downs (11 punts, 13 first downs).
Both quarterbacks are 8 for 16 (80 yards for Henne, 54 yards for Sanchez). Neither has a touchdown. Neither has thrown a pick.
It’s been a horribly boring football game.
That said, Gibril Wilson has absolutely destroyed Mark Sanchez twice in this one. And the Jets blitzing what seems like 14 guys every third down because they know the Dolphins can’t beat either of their cornerbacks is entertaining.
But that’s about it.
That action (and I use that term loosely) is about to begin again. See you after the game. Unless the game puts me to sleep.
