The Patriots appear to have dodged a bullet with Ty Warren’s ankle injury.

Ty Warren, a huge (both literally and figuratively) part of their dominant defensive line, was carted off the field Sunday with an apparently ankle injury.

That injury, according to multiple sources, is not serious.

Thanks to the bye week, Warren is not expected to miss any time. This is great news, as the Patriots can ill afford injuries on the defensive line.

After the trade of Richard Seymour, Warren assumed the role of defensive-end-you-can’t-run-anywhere-near. If he were to miss significant time, the Patriots run defense would take a big-time hit.

Luckily, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
