The Cape Cod Bird Club will be hosting a presentation of “New England Birds” by nature photographer and educator, Eduardo del Solar on Monday, October 12th. The presentation will consist of photos taken by del Solar in New England, but includes some birds that one would not expect to find in the Northeast. From time to time, birds that do not frequent the region either stray to the New England or are blown here by storms. The photo collection to be presented by del Solar includes such New England rarities as a northern hawk owl photographed in Bristol, Maine, and a western reef heron photographed in New Hampshire in 2007. Of course, the presentation will also include New England’s resident birds as well, all captured with the technical excellence and artistic flair for which del Solar is known.

Working as a public school teacher in Boston for the last 25 years, del Solar finds time on weekends and vacations to pursue his hobby of bird photography. He has recently returned from a trip to the cloud forests of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. While there he focused his talents and his camera on sea birds and coastal birds for the third part of his long term project Birds of the Americas which is currently on display at the Boston Nature Center through the month of October.

New England Birds will be presented at the October monthly meeting of the Cape Cod Bird Club which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on October 12th. The meeting is free and the public is welcome to attend at:
Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
869 Route 6A
Brewster, MA 02631

The Cape Cod Bird Club holds monthly meetings on the second Monday of every month at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and invites the public to attend. Brewster is about a 2.5 hour drive from Manchester, NH.
