Parents, please be aware that the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) recently recalled 1.4 million clogs due to a choking hazard risk. The Buster Brown & Co. children’s shoes that fall into this recall consist of the plastic-molded EVA “water” clogs that resemble different characters from “Cars,” “Transformers” and “Barbie.”

Here are a few photos that show some of the recalled shoes:

The shoes in question range in size from 5 to 13 and youth sizes 1-3. They have been sold at major retailers nationwide, including Bealls’, Famous Footwear, J.C. Penney, Meijer, Rack Room, Sears, Shoe Show, Target, and Wal-Mart from August 2007 through June 2009 for $10 to $25.

For additional information on this recall, please visit the CPSC alert: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09281.html or contact Buster Brown & Co. toll-free at (888) 869-1044 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday and between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, visit the firm’s website at www.busterbrownshoes.com (PDF), or send an email to Busterandtige@brownshoe.com.
