Whatever age your child is, the mere question – “do you want to build a fort?” will always elicit excitement and cheer. The Fortamajig is a very cool invention that enables kids to build a fort, tunnel, cave, anything they can gleefully hide under, without the constant tucking and re-tucking that a normal sheet requires.

Toy name:                      Fortamajig
Manufacturer:                The Happy Kid Company
Recommended age:       3+
Price:                             $57.95 through Fat Brain Toys

It might seem a little extravagant to pay this much for a big swath of nylon, but the Fortamajig is extremely durable, portable and will last for years and years. What’s even cooler is that The Happy Kid Company also makes an accompanying product called Connectables that connect to the Fortamajig to add even more options for creative fort/maze design.

Each week I will feature a creative, imaginative and fun toy that has been kid-tested and approved.
