VIDEO: Barack and Michelle Obama’s first dance to ‘At Last’ at the Neighborhood Ball
It’s finally official, Barack Obama is now our American President! What a fitting song it was that he and his amazing wife Michelle danced their first dance as President and First Lady to Etta James’ classic, ‘At Last.’ Sung by pop icon Beyoncé, the song serenaded the pair as they twirled their way into our hearts once again as America’s favorite ‘real’ couple, the new royalty of this country.
Watching the Neighborhood Ball was a surreal experience. It seemed to be a mix between a high-profile awards show with the biggest names in entertainment, and a lavish wedding of a gorgeous couple. The event was the first of its kind for a Presidential Inauguration and was representative of the new era and new energy that this family will bring to the country.
I love that before their first dance, Barack Obama addressed the crowd and asked, “How good-looking is my wife?” To which the audience replied with thunderous applause. Here’s a video clip of the dance:
Tuesday’s Neighborhood Ball was apparently the first of 10 that Barack and Michelle planned on attending the evening of the Inauguration. It was surely a long night for this family and an even longer celebration for this country. Barack Obama is our President. At last.
