Seeking advice: How do you answer questions about Santa?

We’re deeply entrenched in the “why?” stage of childhood in our household and now that my son is four, Santa Claus and his eight reindeer bring the questioning to a whole new level. Since this is the first year in which Santa is a significant part of the Christmas experience, the reality of his existence is prompting questions that I’m not really quite sure how to answer.
Here are some of the questions that have been posed just today:
“How do the reindeer fly if they don’t have wings?”
“How does Santa get down the chimney?”
“Why does Rudolph’s nose light up like a flashlight?”
I consider myself to be a creative person and one who is able to answer the many “why” questions about a four year old’s world, but in this instance, “it’s magic” and “Santa is special” have been my canned responses. If it weren’t for distractions and snack diversions, I think I’d lose a lot of street credibility with those answers. I know this is just the beginning and in the coming days, I’ll be barraged with questions about Santa’s cookie eating habits, his travel plans for Christmas Eve night, how his sleigh can fit all the toys, etc. and I’m going to need to be prepared.
So, for the more seasoned Santa experts out there, I would love to hear comments on how you answer questions about jolly ‘ol St. Nick. Do you have any particularly creative answers that seem to satisfy the insatiable mind of a child? Any memorable questions you can recall for your own Santa stories?
Please post your comments below. Thank you in advance for the advice and for showing me the way of the Santa.
