ReelzChannel has been feeding fan obsession twice a week during the countdown to New Moon. Focusing on each of the directors, the Quileute Nation, and exclusive cast interviews, among other topics, the subjects tackled on Reelzchannel has become a conversation starter for many a teen and her mom.
This week, the show asked, “Which director should direct Breaking Dawn?” and came to me for my opinion on the matter. Though, for time purposes, the answer was exponentially shortened, here was my answer in full:

The L.A. Times recently posed this question, and among the names they suggested, my top picks were Andrew Adamson (loved the Chronicles of Narnia) and Sam Raimi (director of the popular Spiderman series). But none of the choices rocked my socks.

As a HUGE fan of the recent movie, The Watchmen, which told a great story and utilized a great composition and color palate, I'm sold on Zack Snyder. Both The Watchmen and 300 were incredibly seamless and hearty movies that garnered a big bustle around the watercooler. Coming from a virtual no-name director, that's an impressive feat.

Some tidbits about him from IMDB:
* Flamboyant visual style using a combination of dynamic compositions, highly-saturated color schemes and visual effects
* Often speeds-up and slows-down motion during action sequences (300 (2006), Watchmen (2009))."
* Studied visual art at Heatherlys School of Fine Art in Chelsea, London.
* Dubbed "The Wizard" by journalist/filmmaker Chad Clinton Freeman.

As a mature fan, personal opinion states that, in order to be given proper credence and respect to the book, the movie would have to be rated R.
Unfortunately, that rating goes against the age range towards which the book is geared. Even Melissa Rosenberg has stated that the movie could be properly done without an R rating.
And though the production of Breaking Dawn hasn’t been formally announced, it’s still fun to speculate who should direct it, what pieces of the book must be included in the movie, and which could be left out for rating purposes.

A Twilight fan has posed this question as a poll, using ReelzChannel’s bloggers’ picks as inspiration- ring in with your thoughts, then let us know your pick below and why!
