'90210' will go back to the beach

Looks like “90210” will be going back to the beach … that is the Beverly Hills Beach Club.

The beach club will be featured on the new “90210,” according to a report by Access Hollywood. Longtime fans of “Beverly Hills, 90210” will remember the steamy beach episodes, which aired during the summer and reportedly increased ratings on the teen drama. Many of the show’s main characters belonged to the club, while Minnesota-import Brandon Walsh worked at the posh club over the summer.

So does this mean that Kansas-import Dixon Wilson on the CW’s new “90210” will also work at the Beverly Hills Beach Club? He seems to be following in Brandon’s footsteps with a job at the gang’s favorite hangout, the Peach Pit, along with his obvious Brandon-like role as a teen who recently moved to Beverly Hills with his family and sister.

Regardless of whether Dixon will be folding up beach chairs this summer, there is sure to be some heated scenes at the beach. After all, the beach club is the place where Kelly Taylor and Dylan McKay hooked up while Brenda Walsh was in Paris in the original series.

The beach club holds a lot of history for the series, as this was also the place where Jackie Taylor (Kelly’s mom) met dentist Mel Silver (David Silver’s dad) when she chipped her tooth while eating lunch. The pair eventually wed and gave birth to Erin Silver, who about 17 years later is now known as “Silver” on the new “90210.”

Production for “90210” is scheduled to begin in June. Filming of the beach scenes will not be at the same club used in the original series due to earthquake damage sustained in 1994, according to Access Hollywood’s report. The new beach club scenes will reportedly be on set and at an undisclosed location.
