The new “90210” on the CW network will apparently be heading into its sophomore season without a major character.
Dustin Milligan, who plays Ethan Ward, will not return to the show, according to TVGuide.com. This will leave quite an impact on the series, as the character was the center of several love triangles.
Ethan dated Naomi Clark and then Annie Wilson, which caused a rift between the new girlfriends. When Ethan finally settled on Annie and things appeared to be going well for the couple, he bonded with car-crash victim Rhonda Kimble. Alas, we thought Ethan was free from the love triangles when he suddenly became liberated and wanted to seek more out of life. What he ended up seeking was Erin “Silver” Silver, who is the girlfriend of Dixon Wilson.
Ethan’s most recent love triangle began at prom as the first season wrapped up. So will there even be a chance to see this one play out? Besides, in true “90210” style, Ethan hasn’t dated the rest of the cast yet. He could still date new mom Adrianna Tate-Duncan or even counselor Kelly Taylor in a cougar-like move.
So with the departure of Ethan, there leaves a major opening for a new heartthrob at West Beverly Hills High School. The new character will be a tennis pro known as “Teddy,” TVGuide.com reports. But who will fill in the new guy’s tennis shoes? Fans are anxiously awaiting casting news, as well as who the new guy will hook up with at West Beverly.
