Mark your calendars, "90210" fans!
The sophomore season of "90210" will premiere on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 8 p.m. ET, according to the CW network. Following "90210" at 9 p.m. ET will be the series premiere of the new "Melrose Place." This Tuesday night line-up will kick off the fall season for the CW network.
As they did once before, "90210" and "Melrose Place" will combine for a great night of television, the network announced in a press release. The original "Beverly Hills, 90210" and its spin-off series, "Melrose Place," aired back to back on Wednesday nights in 1992.
Season two of "90210" will reportedly highlight the junior year of Annie and Dixon Wilson and their friends at West Beverly Hills High School. Also, rumor has it that the Beverly Hills Beach Club will reprise its role as a hangout, following the Peach Pit's return last year. And speaking of reprising roles, will more original cast members return like Kelly, Donna, and Brenda? Either way, lots of drama is in store, as season one ended with quite a few surprises.
(If you missed the ending of season one, beware of spoilers below. If you want to catch up on the first season, you can catch reruns this summer on the CW network, click here for DVD release details, or read the recap below.)
Good-girl Annie was falsely accused of ratting out an after-prom party to her father, the school’s principal, and cheating with pal Naomi’s man, Liam. She finally snapped, taking off with a bottle of alcohol, running something/someone over with her car, and then fleeing the scene. This leaves many questions for season two: So just what or who did she hit? Does she go back to the scene? Who was in the car behind her and did they see everything? Will we see a darker side of Annie in season two?
Now, getting back to Naomi: Will she find out who really did cheat with Liam when she found him in her bedroom at the after-prom party? Viewers discovered it was Naomi’s sister, Jen, and as Liam called Naomi to tell her the truth, he was pulled away by what appeared to be members of a military school. Which brings even more questions: Will Liam be shipped off to military school? Will he and Naomi get back together? Will Naomi learn of her sister’s devious ways?
There was more drama on a lesser scale when a love triangle between Dixon, Silver, and Ethan heated up. Dixon accused Ethan of having feelings for Silver, and a fight ensued after prom. Ethan is reportedly leaving the show, however, so will that be the end of that love triangle? And is there a new heartthrob headed to town if Ethan leaves?
And lastly, the season wrapped up with a new member to the group: Adrianna’s baby. Although, she gave the little girl up for adoption, will she change her mind?
Season two should answer most of these questions, and of course, leave viewers with even more. What else can you expect from one of television’s most dramatic zip codes? We'll find out in September.
