This week’s episode of “90210” was all about deception and intuition.
(Spoiler alert if you haven't yet watched this episode. If you have watched, then keep reading and share your comments below.)
In “Women’s Intuition,” an overwhelmed Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds) revealed to his parents that his older girlfriend, Sasha (Mekia Cox), was pregnant. Using her intuition, his mother Debbie (Lori Loughlin), investigated Sasha’s claims. With the inaccurate details of the pregnancy, and the fact that Debbie recognized Sasha from the nail salon a few weeks back, she uncovered that Sasha was lying to Dixon.
After Debbie confronted Sasha about the lies, Sasha told Dixon that she had a miscarriage and ended the relationship. Debbie, again using her intuition, chose not to tell Dixon about Sasha’s deceit as to not hurt him worse. Hopefully this little fib on mom’s behalf won’t come back to haunt them.
As for Dixon’s sister, Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes), she learned from The Blaze’s head journalist, Navid Shirazi (Michael Steger), that her boyfriend, Jasper Herman (Zachary Ray Sherman), is a drug dealer (based on a tip from Rumer Willis’ character, Gia). When she confronted Jasper about the claims, he got upset with her for not believing and trusting him. They eventually made up, but Jasper did prove to be lying as he was later shown selling drugs to Adrianna Tate-Duncan (Jessica Lowndes).
Adrianna has been depressed since her breakup with Navid. She even serenaded him (in which viewers got to hear the lovely voice of Lowndes) in an attempt to win him back, but he told her he was done. Her friends, Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord) and Erin “Silver” Silver (Jessica Stroup) tried to show their support and encouraged the recovering addict to go to an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting. They also asked Navid to talk to her, which really didn’t help matters.
Adrianna got all dressed up and decided to go to The Edison, where the rest of the gang was, but spotted Navid with a harem of girls, and her other ex-boyfriend, Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan), flirting with Silver. Adrianna ran out, upset, which led to her purchase from Jasper.
Surfer girl Ivy (Gillian Zinser) enlisted fellow teammate Teddy’s help to get Liam Court (Matt Lanter) to join them at The Edison. She has a crush on Liam, but his eyes were on Naomi at the club. And then, of course, Liam got distracted by Jen Clark’s (Sara Foster) further lies to her boyfriend (they made it official, but she’ll probably still cheat) and Liam’s teacher, Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold). She lied to Ryan and said Liam hit on her at a party once and painted a bad picture of him, but fans know that Jen is the one to watch out for.
Also at the club, Navid decided to approach a group of girls (the harem mentioned earlier). He had a little encouragement from pal Liam and DJ Samantha Ronson, who made a brief guest appearance. Also making a guest appearance as themselves were Pharrell and N.E.R.D., who were performing at The Edison, and just happened to be friends of Jen. (N.E.R.D. is featured on “Soundtrack 90210.”)
After the night out at The Edison, Ivy came to visit Liam, who was working on his mysterious project in his garage. Her crush was revealed and they shared a kiss, but Liam made a point to say he didn’t want anything serious. Fans know Liam still has his sights on Naomi, but all of the lies from the queen of deception, her sister, Jen, has kept them apart.
On a side note, several famous Hollywood locations made an appearance in this week’s episode. The producers had said there would be more of the Los Angeles and Hollywood scene shown in season two, and they proved they were serious in this episode with such landmarks as Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs, The Edison, and the Hollywood sign.
"90210" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on the CW network.
