Several celebrities, including “90210” actress Jennie Garth, are speaking up in a “Save the Seals: End Canada’s Seal Slaughter” campaign.
The Canadian government allows sealers to beat and skin hundreds of thousands of seals, including baby seals, each year, according to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). PETA, Canadian citizens, and celebrities such as Garth, Jorja Fox, Steve O, Brody Jenner, Holly Madison, Kelly Osbourne, and Perez Hilton are calling for an end to this “cruel and needless massacre,” PETA reported.
The European Union’s ban on seal products and the U.S. Senate’s resolution to end seal slaughter are major steps in the right direction, but there is still much to be done to stop the slaughter forever, according to PETA.
