Well, it happened again, the red carpet was dotted with starlets donning the purest of non-colors - WHITE. For the 2009 Emmy's however bridal nuances weren't hinted at, as the silhouettes were all very clean and unfussy - ballgowns in snow white were absent from the scene. White was made to look extremely modern left as shown on the beautiful January Jones. The structure of Jones's corseted top and how it plays against the flow of the breezy chiffon white skirt is genius and looks lovely and fresh without being overly costumey! Don't attempt a look like this though if hips aren't your selling point. These shapes are meant to enhance a pencil shape and helps to define and create waistline. If this is a look you want to replicate, make sure you're a skinny mini.

Another white stunner on the red carpet was the asymetrical number worn by the star on E Network's Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kim. Kim's olive-tinged complexion looked lovely against the snow white frock that clung in all the right places proving yet again, that it's not only A-ok to show off your curves - if you've got 'em you might as well flaunt them. Kim styled the minimalist shape perfectly too, by forgoing lot's of bling and instead focusing on simple oversized hoops that swung from her lobes.
Perhaps a jolt a color would have added a bit more interesting - think, a gorgeous chartruese shantung clutch or an in-your-face emerald cocktail ring would hit a homer? Remember, when going monochromatic make it lively by injecting a brillant color with accessories. Try a shoe, bag, or single pice of jewelry and you'll hit a homer.
Another red carpet highlight glowing in white was Leighton Meester who shined like the Goddess she is in a beautiful Grecian-inspired draped gown. The chunky matching gold cuffs added just enough rough and tough to this etheral look that is 100% heaven on the ultra-fem Meester who accessorized just right opting for gold instead of silver. Learn from Leighton: Gold accessories warm up any all white look while silver is more futuristic. For more fair complected gals like leighton your best bet is to go gold, while alternately, a naturally bronzy brod like Kim, can get away with a chilled out silver.
