The producers of Project Runway are "Making it work" on their new network for the brand new season of the famed fashion designer show full of creativity, attitude, and drama all around.  For all the Project Runway obsessed out there the upcoming season came not a moment too soon as the longer than usual hiatus had the masses chomping at the bit for some more fashion action with the likes of Tim Gunn, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and of course the venerable Michael Kors.  The "staff" so to speak is the same and of course the designers all new - beyond that the show is pretty much status quo with the weekly challenge ending in a "You're out"  even the music is the same however the talent this season seems to be merely warming up and definitely doesn't seem as articulate as some of the players from past seasons.  While there certainly are some front runners, at this stage of the game it's difficult to pin point the guy or gal who will wow us at the end - in other words so far there are no Christian Sirianos to be discussed.

Last week's challenge put the designer's to work on maternity wear in honor of the guest judge Rebecca Romajn who is fully preggers.  The winner of the challenge earned her recognition throwing together a deep crimson, subtly braided empire dress with a darling charcoal swingy coat with a printed lining that perfectly complimented the red frock.  However, the "loser" of the show was wrongly dismissed.  While the premise of the ensemble - a chicken and an egg - was certainly odd at least he used creativity and the top/sling was constructed correctly and visually interesting.  This design went head to head with another poor concept that included ill-fitting shorts, a second skin knit top and sweater.  Conceptually, the shorts and top pairing was cute (at best) but was uninspired, boring and more importantly was poorly sewn.  Why should a creative, out-of-the-box thinker get kicked out versus an individual who can't sew a proper pair of shorts?  This designer's days are numbered.
