A complete eclectic table for $61.50

While traipsing around the Bay Area flea markets, many divine pieces can be gathered, on the cheap, to lavish your home with one-of-a-kind finds.

Wind chimes made with a sweet dish

Such is the case with tableware.  From fine china to flatware to linens -  all can be used to create an eclectic dining experience right at home.  Pairing incomplete sets of dishes with assorted glassware and a re-claimed tablecloth can provide an original and expressive look.  If you happen to have guests at your eclectic table, they will go straight home and plot how they too can create a show stopping look and feel with a flea market dime.

Rocker Earth, Twisted Silver

Many flea market vendors have re-invented the art of the table setting by making everyday items into whimsical treats.  Plates and silverware are cleverly converted into wind chimes, forks are twisted to hold a dish or a frame, a teacup become a candle holder. Jewelry artisan, Twisted Silver, got their start making wind chimes out of re-discovered silver teapots and discarded silverware  - today they have evolved into using salvaged and rejuvenated vintage silverware to create their signature Rocker necklace hand-forged from a "twisted" spoon. Stunning!

Truly exquisite choices at the flea market to create a low cost and appealing table.  With the holidays fast approaching, and at home entertaining on the rise, why not delight in re-purposing found items to add new life and conversation to any occasion.

For more info: Eclectic table pieces gathered from the DeAnza Flea Market, Church of the Valley's First Annual Flea Market, Alameda and Niles Antique Fair & Flea Market.  Twisted Silver can be discovered at www.twisted-silver.com and in many Bay Area stores including ThrivingInk in Pleasanton http://thrivingink.com/.
