I just wanted to share another good local resource for budget fashion. The DC Goodwill Fashion Blog showcases fabulous Goodwill finds as well as good budget buys that can be found elsewhere. Most items from Goodwill are less than $10! You'll also find updates on Goodwill's Traveling Trunk Shows filled with handpicked finds at great prices, of course.
You can also shop Goodwill online at ShopGoodwill.com. I love this adorable purple and white golf outfit, currently only $5! And this St. John halter swimsuit for $10. The website works like ebay so you bid on the pieces you love.
I know that Goodwill is not the most glamorous of stores but if you're willing to get a little down and dirty and spend some time searching, you really can find some amazing things. And when you do come across something fabulous, it's so exciting when you look up and see that's it's only $4!!! I have a beautiful yellow cashmere sweater, originally from J. Crew and almost never worn that I found at Goodwill, a unique woven belt and a vibrant green wool scarf that I always get compliments on, as well as several other items that were a result of a treasure hunt at Goodwill. Sometimes I go there to look around when I'm craving some shopping but am on a very strict budget - there's virtually no risk of going overboard because everything is so cheap!
