Meet the designers from Project Runway season 6
Lifetime.com finally released the identities of the contestants for season 6. The good news is that the 16 designers range in age from 24 to 50, and have varied backgrounds. The bad news is a disproportionate amount of the designers name Christian Siriano as their favorite former Project Runway designer. (Although one of the designers describes him as "That "Fierce" kid", which is pretty funny.) Does this mean we'll have a repeat of season 5, where the designers were more interested in coming up with a catch-phrase then making beautiful clothes? Let's hope not.
The new designers include
Rodney Epperson, a 50 year old window designer from New York. Epperson feels his greatest strength is ability to re-engineer fabric. His favorite designer is
Yohji Yamamoto. Freelance designer
Louise Black worked as a pharmacy technician before she became a designer. Her first design was her wedding dress. The first garment
Nicolas Putvinski ever made was a pleather tube top dress for his then 12-year-old sister (just what every 12-year-old needs). Originally from Russia, Putvinski now makes his home in New York.
