Get ready to flex your fashionista muscles again! After months of fighting, lawsuits and injunctions, Project Runway will finally return August 20th on the Lifetime Network.
In addition to a new network, PR has changed locations (from New York to Los Angeles) and will now be produced by Bunim/Murray, the production company behind The Real World and The Bad Girls Club. Garnier hair care has replaced Tresemme as a sponsor.
So, new network, new city, new producers. . .does this mean a new Project Runway? Nope. According to producer Jon Murray: ''Lifetime was pretty clear with us: It's a wonderful show as it is. There was no desire to change what made it so great.'' To that end, Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors will all return. Even Mood Fabrics (which provided fabric for the past five seasons in New York) set up a temporary shop for the designers in Los Angeles.
If you want to know who the new designers are, well good luck. Lifetime is keeping their identities secret for now. Some information has leaked about the new season, though: the final three collections can be viewed online, however, the collections were sent out anonymously. Guest judges will include Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan and Bob Mackie.
In case you need a fashion fix before August, Bravo does show repeats the first five seasons on occasion; usually before it's new design program, "The Fashion Show". I'll add more as updates become available.
