The ADAMS Cub Scouts thanked the community for their generous donations to their first-ever Eid Toy Drive.

During the beginning days of Ramadan many community members donated over 200 toys to the project -- over 90% of which were brand new. The Bear Den and their leader, Mirza Baig, spent hours collecting and delivering over twenty bags of toys to Muslimat al-Nisaa, a shelter whose clients are homeless women and children.  The boys learned about the true spirit of community service and sharing as they collected the community's generous donations for the children of the families served by Muslimat al-Nisaa.  Those children can in turn celebrate a wonderful and joyous Eid al-Fitr holiday.

This was truly a wonderful service opportunity for the Cub Scouts, especially during such a special time as Ramadan.

ADAMS Scouts are members of the Goose Creek District within the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Thier mission is to offer young people responsible fun and adventure, instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law, train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership, and serve America's communities and families with our quality, values-based program.
