Debra has taught speech and media communications for 20 years at colleges in North and South Carolina, including Clemson University and Cal State Pomona. She has also worked in television and radio as a reporter/producer and anchor for stations in North Carolina and California. She has been a member of the Humane Society of Lincoln County for 11 years and active in pet rescue, pet adoptions, humane education as well as fund raising. She has placed roughly 300 hundred dogs and cats into forever adoptive homes and currently has seven rescued dogs and six cats. Debra says if she couldn’t go hiking and running without her “pack” almost every day or she would go nuts. She is a native of Avery County, NC, married to Joe with a 12-year-old daughter, Georgia.
