Day 4: Thursday, July 9th - Utah Jazz 92 Orlando Magic 84  (Box Score)  (Recap)

Trailing 72-51 after three quarters, the Jazz appeared headed towards their third loss of the summer league, but a furious fourth quarter rally pushed the game into overtime. Derrick Brown led Utah’s comeback contributing 25 points on 10 of 15 shooting. Kevin Kruger added 16 and Wesley Matthews scored 15 off the bench. The Jazz outscored Orlando 41 to 12 in the fourth quarter and overtime sessions to earn the 92-84 victory. Orlando’s Ryan Anderson led all scorers with 26 points on 9 of 18 shooting.

  • Eric Maynor finished with 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assists and 2 turnovers. He was 1 of 5 from the floor and 0 for 0 from the free throw line.
  • Goran Suton finished with 8 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 turnover. He was 2 of 5 from the floor and 4 for 6 from the free throw line.
  • Wesley Matthews came off the bench and was one of the key contributors to Utah’s fourth quarter comeback. He finished with 15 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists on 6 of 10 shooting from the floor and was a perfect 3 for 3 from the free throw line.
  • Charlotte Bobcats’ draft pick Derrick Brown scored 25 points on 10 of 15 shooting from the field.

 

Day 5: Friday, July 10th - Utah Jazz 70 Oklahoma City 60  (Box Score)  (Recap)

The Utah Jazz concluded their summer league play on a high note defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 70-60 on Friday morning. Utah took advantage of 19 assists and received solid performances from Josh Duncan, Derrick Brown, Andre Ingram and Kevin Kruger. Oklahoma City’s DJ White led all scorers with 17 and James Harden added 14 for the Thunder.

  • Maynor finished with 8 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 turnovers. He was 2 of 6 from the floor and 4 for 6 from the free throw line.
  • Goran Suton finished with 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 turnovers. He was 1 of 3 from the floor and 0 for 0 from the free throw line.
  • Wesley Matthews got the start, but played less than two minutes. Dar Tucker again finished without a made field goal.
  • Derrick Brown finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 0 assists and 0 turnovers. He was 5 of 8 from the floor and 0 for 0 from the free throw line.
