Applications on Facebook often follow a theme of a virtual new world. There are games for mafias or mobs along with running a restaurant. Astonishingly farming is a hot area and inspired multiple apps.

Game play typically involve a plot of land, seeds and growing produce. The core principle to most games are designing a personal farm. Where to put the crops? What about the decorations? How to customize the farmer?

The joy of farming isn't as much for the produce as much as it is for selling the crops to buy more things. Of course leveling up means more crop choices too. Some offer the option of stealing or nabbing a few items, i.e. Happy Farm, Country Story and Barn Buddy.

Personally I occasionally get bored and create designs out of my Farmville farm. The other day I tried to make a corn maze to minimal results. It kept the farming interesting.
