                                   Wolf Tickets

Wolf Tickets, an old school punk/reggae band from Buffalo, New York, formed in 1992, consists of members Chris Malachowski, lead vocals and guitar, Russ Bickert, drums and vocals, Mike "Pooh Bear" Snyder, bass and Mike Leahy, lead guitar.

When asked to describe how the band thought of the band name Wolf Tickets, vocalist Chris Malachowski says that:

"I read it in a Playboy article (yes, I was reading the articles) with American singer/songwriter, Tom Waits, in which he was duscussing lost American witticisms and phrases  and Wolf Tickets was discussed".

""Wolf Tickets" generally refers to lying or deceit, as in, "I think he's passing out wolf tickets". (But) it can also mean that you're having a bad day and you would warn people to "stay away from me today. I'm passing out wolf tickets". That's the one I like", he concluded.

Influenced musically by bands such as The Clash, Rancid, Bad Religion and Social Distortion, Malachowski says that his inspiration to form Wolf Tickets came from a combination of, 'the anti-authoritarian stance and do it yourself (DIY) ethic of punk rock, as well as seeing Black Flag and The Circle Jerks play at Buffalo State College that made me realize that energy and grit were far more important than being a virtuoso musician".

Wolf Tickets say that the people who could relate to their music the most are "punk rockers, but also old schoolers who love relatively simple, straightforward rock n' roll" and that their proudest musical accomplishments to date is "being regarded enough by local promoters to open for our favorite bands - like Rancid, Street Dogs and (the Los Angeles, California based reggae band) The Aggrolites - etc."

Wolf Tickets play in Buffalo primarily at Mohawk Place, but also perform at Club Diablo, Nietzchies and Tudor Lounge and say a dream bill would be to play a show with Social Distortion at The Town Ballroom.

The band has released a six track EP titled "The Bag of Bones EP" and will be releasing their full length album on Sept. 25, at Mohawk Place, titled "Here Comes the Hell".
