Planet Zero, a jeans and t-shirt rock band from Virginia, consists of three friends/members who have known each other, "for a lifetime".
The group is made up of Mark Willis, drums, Jim Anderson, bass and their guitarist/vocalist simply known as G.
As a self-proclaimed "triple threat", Planet Zero have traveled the country and played shows in Atlanta, Virginia, Chicago, Seattle and New York - at such venues as The Nissan Pavilion, The Black Cat in Washington D.C. and the sadly defunct, but still world famous, CBGB music club in Manhattan.
Influenced heavily by artists such as Lauri Ylonen of The Rasmus, Terri Bozzio, former drummer for Frank Zappa and Cliff Burton, the tragically lost former bassist of Metallica, Planet Zero define their style as fervent in nature.
"The majority of our music is based on true emotion, good and bad - happy and sad", says P.Z. vocalist G.
Emotion, of course, that is blatantly noticeable in songs such as: 'Romeo", "Crash", " Love to Bleed", "Ghost" and "Broken".
As individual fans of multiple styles of music, Planet Zero are also involved in musical side projects known as Grim Methods and Temper - which the band describes as, "a heavier style of our music that needs to be divided from Planet Zero so it doesn't become too diverse (and complex) for people to understand".
In the end, the guys from Planet Zero say that they would be satisfied with just making good music, but if making music became a full-time job, they wouldn't have any complaints.
Planet Zero record in their self-owned studio and are planning to release their debut album later this summer.
They will also be launching a massive north eastern tour later this summer that includes multiple stops in Buffalo. I will post the details as they become available.
