There are a lot of reasons why Japan is awesome. For starters, Japan sells women's underwear out of vending machines, which, if you're a woman on the search for some undewear, is probably convenient. Nintendo is from there. That alone is oodles of geek cred. Japan is technologically innovative, culturally rich, and have long provided a backbone for geek interests with it's claim on anime, manga, and the like. Also, Japan does stuff like this:

Why don't we do this? Every city should have one of these in it. It screams, "Don't mess with us, we have a giant robot to destroy you with!" Cause that's what giant robots do. I'm telling you, if this catches on, Cleveland has dibs on Voltron.
