The skinny on Saks’ sales: Tyson’s Galleria

Shoes: As always, shoes first! The selection on the racks was pretty similar to what they had in Chevy Chase. I saw lots of the patent leather Ferragamo’s that I liked so much at the Chevy Chase store. I momentarily let my eyes wander from the sale racks (this usually does not end well for my bank account) I noticed all these little signs scattered about that said “Pre-Sale.” I still find the whole pre-sale concept rather confusing, but it does mean that everything that is pre-sale will be on non-confusing regular sale shortly! I saw quite a few Christian Louboutin’s and Jimmy Choo’s that would be awfully tempting at even 40%.

Women’s Contemporary: Conveniently located across from the shoes I spotted several clothes racks out in the aisles in this section! This is a very, very good sign: once clothes are separated from the herd is when the prices start to really drop. Milly, Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and Nanette Lepore—I saw some similar items to what was in Chevy Chase, but a much better selection! I found a Theory shirt dress that I absolutely loved (and marked down 60%), but alas it was not in my size. Does that mean I threw in the towel? Of course not! I had the sale’s associate to a store search and there was one left in the entire country. He put in the order for me, but said it’s a 50/50 chance whether I actually get it or not. Maybe I’m crazy, but I think the gamble is kind of fun! I digress. The lesson to learn is if you find something you like (especially a sale item) in the wrong size, you should have a sale’s associate do a search because there may be one out there somewhere with your name on it!

Handbags: As my shopping buddy and I wandered around admiring the new Botkier bags, I was distraught to find absolutely nothing on sale! After making the loop around this entire section I finally found a sale table hidden behind a large column near the dangerously alluring Marc Jacobs section. The sale table was worth the search, though, because they had some fabulous metallic Botkier bags that varied from clutches to totebags. At 40% off what girl doesn’t need a pink metallic bag in several sizes?!
